A: If a student is unable to attend Camp Paradise due to illness, then a full refund will be issued. Please contact
Q: Does my student have to spend the night?
A: Yes, we are not offering a day camp option. If you believe there is a special circumstance, please contact one of the student pastors.
Q: Can I drop my student off late or pick them up early from camp?
A: If your student needs to arrive late or depart early from camp, please get in touch with Sheila Stover at to discuss your child’s situation.
Q: What is the adult-to-student ratio?
A: Generally, there is a 1:5 ratio of adults to students at camp. All family groups, which consist of 10-12 students, will have at least two adult leaders.
Q: Will there be a medical professional on site?
A: Yes, we will be bringing medical staff along with us. If your student has any special medical needs (i.e. A.D.D., frequent seizures, asthma, diabetic medications, severe allergies) our medical staff need to know, please fill out the medical release form accordingly. All medications are administered by the medical staff.
Q: What are the sleeping arrangements?
A: Awanita has several “bunk houses” with rooms that sleep 10-12 people with a common area shared between rooms. Each room has its own bathroom. Bed linens and towels are not provided, please bring your own. Adults will be present with students in the lodging areas for supervision and safety.
Q: What kind of food will be served?
A: Camp food is not gourmet, but Awanita exceeds the usual expectations of “camp food”. Students will be fed 3 meals a day. If your student has special dietary needs, please call us to discuss your student’s specific needs. It is critical for your student to eat balanced meals and stay hydrated at Camp. Camp can be physically exhausting and students who do not eat or drink appropriately will pay for it by spending quality time with the Camp medical staff and not participating in Camp activities.
